Here are key terms to know about regarding CBD:
Industrial Hemp: A type of the cannabis plant that must contain less than .03% THC. It Non-Psychoactive harvested for its seeds and Cannabinoids
Full Spectrum: A type of CBD product that contains a full array of Cannabinoids and compounds that are intended to provide a more beneficial overall product.
Broad spectrum: The whole plant is used but it’s likely missing a compound (intentionally or lost one nutrient while being processed) (Usually THC is lost)
Isolate: Form of CBD in which everything except CBD is removed from plant. Usually very refined to a crystal or powder form.
Certificate of analysis (COA): A document detailing third-party testing of a product.
Terpenes: Aromatic oils that give cannabis its smell also known to have additional benefits of their own
Cannabinoid: Naturally occurring chemical compound found in cannabis plant. There are at least 100 known cannabinoids
Entourage effect: When the compounds work together synergistically to potentially make the sum of greater than its parts
Endocannabinoid system (ECS): System in the body that has receptors to absorb and use components of the plant. Ultimate goal is maintaining homeostasis, or balance within the body. Read more about the Endocannabinoid System here:
Tinctures: Liquid extract
Anxiolytic: A drug that relieves anxiety
Antiemetic: Used to prevent or relieve nausea or vomiting
